Frequently asked questions
About LOFT
We’re a Manchester furniture company that’s spent years furnishing rented homes, from student rooms to whole apartment buildings. LOFT Living is the first time we’ve sold directly to people furnishing their own homes
Yes. Same team, same Manchester base, same standards. LOFT Living is simply our shop for homeowners and renters, while loft.co.uk looks after landlords and developers.
You can, but you’ll likely get more from our trade team at loft.co.uk, who handle everything from a single flat to whole buildings.
Ordering and payment
Add what you’d like to your basket and check out. You don’t need an account, but creating one makes it easier to track your order.
All major debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.
Get in touch as soon as you can. If your order hasn’t been dispatched, we’ll do our best to change or cancel it.
Sign up to our emails at the bottom of any page for new arrivals and offers.
Stock and availability
Every product page shows live stock. If it says “In stock” or “Only 3 units left”, that’s an accurate picture.
Delivery
Mainland UK only, and any exclusions such as the Highlands, islands or Northern Ireland.
We aim to deliver all orders within 14 working days if the product is in stock. If your order is likely to go over this we will always try to communicate that as soon as possible.
Check the dimensions on the product page against your doorways, stairs and hallways before ordering, especially for sofas and wardrobes. If you’re unsure, get in touch and we’ll help you work it out.
Products & Materials
On every product page, under Dimensions. Measure your space first, and leave room to walk around it.
We display all products as accurately as we can, but screens vary, images are for illustrative purposes and colours can differ slightly.
Boucle is a soft, looped fabric with lots of texture. Velvet is smooth with a slight sheen. Weave is a hardwearing, everyday fabric that’s easy to live with.
It means the finish looks like wood or marble but is made from a different material, such as a printed or veneered surface. It’s lighter, more affordable and often easier to look after. The product page always says exactly what each piece is made from.
All our upholstered furniture meets UK fire safety regulations. Some pieces are also CRIB 5 compliant, a higher standard often needed in rental and commercial settings. It’s listed on the product page where it applies.
Each product page has care instructions for that piece. As a rule: dust regularly, blot spills straight away, and keep furniture out of strong direct sunlight to help stop fading.
No, mattresses are sold separately, so you can choose the one that suits you. Our mattresses come in double and king sizes to fit our bed frames.
Match it to your bed frame: a double frame takes a double mattress, and a king frame takes a king. The size is listed on every bed and mattress page.
Sustainability
Quite a lot, and we’d rather show you than tell you. We keep 98% of our waste out of landfill, our team has hand-planted more than 5,000 trees, and we’re ISO 14001:2015 accredited. More on our Sustainability page.
Yes. Some pieces use recycled materials, such as a dining chair with a seat made from recycled plastic and a mattress made using recycled materials.
Returned and ex-display furniture that can’t be resold is donated to charities, helping furnish homes for people who need them.
